2016 Edition Alhambra Venture

In the III edition of Alhambra Venture, held on July 6 and 7, up to 140 projects were present in the initial phase, whose main objective focused on the search for funding in the so-called ‘pitches’: interventions before potential investors in which the promoters must present their idea in a short period of time.

For this edition, five rounds of capital raising were available, interspersed with round tables and presentations by world-renowned experts.

Among other speakers at the 2016 edition of Alhambra Venture were: Noga Tal, head of Microsoft’s startup programs and offerings, who gave an overview of the multinational technology company’s perception of entrepreneurs. Natalia Basterrechea, head of public affairs at Facebook in Spain, unveiled the ‘FbStart’ program, a project that aimed to help small companies develop their mobile applications.

Google could not miss the event, which featured the intervention of Francisco Ruiz Antón. The head of public policy of the Californian company explained the evolution of the search engine to become one of the companies with the highest volume worldwide, a journey in which it has tried to maintain the way of working of a ‘startup’. Investment funds, social entrepreneurship and scalability were other issues addressed in the program of conferences and round tables.
