The emergence of the Andalusian ecosystem

Since its birth in 2014, Alhambra Venture has been a witness to the great “awakening” of the ecosystem, as well as a protagonist and driver in its transformation. It has analyzed more than 680 startups and selected 189 as finalists. Currently, the meeting can boast of having raised funding for 20% of its participants, specifically to the tune of 103,503,866 euros, according to data obtained from the DealRoom platform, as shown in the graph below.

A solid sign of the quality and projection of the Alhambra Venture finalists is that 76% of them are still active and growing, while 2% have exited.

In these ten years the Andalusian entrepreneurial ecosystem has experienced a frenetic development. It currently has 852 startups and scaleups identified in the region with a value of 950 million dollars, about 900 million euros. Meanwhile, in 2013, emerging companies as a whole barely reached 100 million euros.

“The data shows the potential of Alhambra Venture and how the event has become a funding tool for startups, providing value to Andalusian talent over a decade,” said Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of IDEAL.
